(Verse) Sixty miles an hour, Tried forgetting her name Spiderweb of freeways Cobwebs in my brain There’s a half-life to relationships, That never went far Freedom of illusion, Now I’m caged in this car Desert of Reality The truth exists just hard to see In the Desert of Reality The truth exists just hard to see (Chorus) I’m like a fire, That’s been left outside I leap at the walls, Tear like rust barbed wire (Verse) If Joan of Arc cured broken hearts Devouring their sins Let's light that spark, Let her fires begin Could there be salvation, Or some meaning in this? I nearly lost my mind, I nearly lost my head Desert of Reality The truth exists just hard to see In the Desert of Reality The truth exists just hard to see (Chorus) I’m like a fire, That’s been left outside I leap at the walls, Tear like rust barbed wire (Verse) Once upon a time she said, “Let them eat cake instead!” Shortly thereafter, Well, she lost her head She just smiled as she lit One last cigarette to share With the voices in her head And the serpents in her hair Desert of Reality The truth exists just hard to see In the Desert of Reality The truth exists just hard to see (Chorus) I’m like a fire, That’s been left outside I leap at the walls, Tear like rust barbed wire (Outro) I nearly lost my mind, I nearly lost my head I will not lose my mind, And I will not lose my head

Deep in Country All Alone A crippling fear This mission’s blown She hears the numbers Every night And hopes for answers ‘til its light The poacher’s tune Preludes broadcast Of secret codes Revealed in numbers (Chorus) God and Queen and Country too They do not care at all ‘bout you Only what you’ll do for them And keep their secrets very tight (Verse) In Secret Code Your cover’s blown No Escape Your on your own Somewhere in the Darkest night Perhaps she’ll live To see daylight For time and Space Might well be bent But numbers, they Cannot be broken (Chorus) God and Queen and Country too They do not care at all ‘bout you Only what you’ll do for them And keep their secrets very tight (Verse) On a lonely farm Near Avalon An Ex-Spy lives He’s all alone Without a word He lets her in He knows the sort of Mess she’s in For time and Space Might well be bent But numbers, they Cannot be broken (Chorus) God and Queen and Country too They do not care at all ‘bout you Only what you’ll do for them And keep their secrets very tight (Outro) Sometimes in the Darkest nights Find a way To see daylight Sometimes home is where you’re at Sometimes home is where you’re at Life cannot be Paint by Numbers Life cannot be Paint by Numbers
3.
(Verse) Too much light In this bar I can see Too far A bar should be A darker place Where clouds of smoke Obscure the details I see her She’s with him But I can see Right through them In a darker place You might not see The way, the way She looks at me Love and Lust They start the same The half-life that is Where the change is Love grows stronger Lust tails off Sounds nice and easy That it’s not Look in her eyes You’ll see its not (Chorus) There's too much light In this Bar I can see too far A bar should be a darker place Where clouds of smoke obscure the details Too much light In this Bar I can see too far (Bridge) I once was dosed With LSD By an old hippie On New Years’ Eve As I walked home From Charlie B’s Each snowflake Seemed so beautiful To me (Verse) Little voice Inside my head Says I should soon Be home in bed But I’ll stay here I’ve got the time Yeah I’ll be here ‘til Closing time Jackie went to school To finger paint I went so, I’d talk real great Our K-Bones keep That rhythm tight Like Supersonic Dynamite (Chorus) There's too much light In this Bar I can see too far A bar should be a darker place Where clouds of smoke obscure the details Too much light In this Bar I can see too far
4.
(Verse) Now and then I still recall Your mouth tasted of alcohol We fumbled kissing in the dark Teasing our arc of electric spark So young that we didn't know That love and lust are mostly art Met you at a house party Still don't know how you got there You grew up in the circus tents Traveling around in an old Airstream Your family spun through time and space Always flying with consummate grace (Chorus) Smash together pull apart We crashed together than fell apart Smash together pull apart We crashed together than fell apart (Verse) Halfpipe on a summer night Spray painted names by rust twilight Smeared them riding in the dark Laid together side by side Holding hands and tracing stars We fumbled kissing in the dark Said goodbye as night turned to day Watched your family drive away Next year when the circus came Your family never returned again I hoped for some twist of fate Maybe you'd arrive but just late (Chorus) Smash together pull apart We crashed together than fell apart Smash together pull apart We crashed together than fell apart (Verse) Now and then I still recall Your mouth tasted of alcohol We fumbled kissing in the dark Teasing our arc of electric spark So young that we didn't know That love and lust are mostly art A rose glass of introspection Through the lens of retrospection See you flying through time and space Always with a confident grace I wonder if we met today Would we just fumble anyway Would we just fumble in dark Would we just fumble in dark Smashed together pull apart We crashed together than fell apart Smashed together pull apart We crashed together than fell apart
5.
(Verse) Once in a while; She destroys a good thing When the plot starts to thicken She tears out a page But love is much more; Than some Rochambeau game Just as Scissors cut paper He returns that page (Chorus) Once in a While Every Couple of Days I get lost in your eyes I get lost in this place Once in a while … I get lost in our space (Verse) Love’s not just A word that we say Now it’s not even words spilled Typeset on a page Love fills the silence On the loneliest nights It’s the comfort of knowing Your never alone (Chorus) Once in a While Every Couple of Days I get lost in your eyes I get lost in this place Once in a while … I get lost in our space (Verse) Love stories unfold They are rarely foretold So let’s rip out our chapter On anger and fear Love fills the silence On the loneliest nights It’s the comfort of knowing Your never alone (Chorus) Once in a While Every Couple of Days I get lost in your eyes I get lost in this place Once in a while … I get lost in our space (Outro) It's the comfort of knowing Your never alone The comfort of knowing Now your never alone . . . .

(Verse) Born in a blackout Turn all the lights out Best run for cover As fear fills the air Deep in a shelter Below the chaos A baby cries, As she breaths her first air Born in a black out Turn all the lights out Our little Nakita Nakita Marie An all clear warning Comes in the morning Through dust and chaos Our 'Kita Marie (Chorus) The Guns, they go Rat-tat-tat The bombs go Boom-boom-boom The earth it just Shake-shake-shakes Yes, it Shake-shake-shakes (Verse) Born in a black out Turn all the lights out Our little Nakita Nakita Marie An all clear warning Comes in the morning Through dust and chaos Our 'Kita Marie (Chorus) The Guns, they go Rat-tat-tat The bombs go Boom-boom-boom The earth it just Shake-shake-shakes Yes, it Shake-shake-shakes (Bridge) No end to this violence Eternal wars that can't be won Shock and awe just causes fear And that fear just breeds more hate No band of brothers Can win our perma-wars Only mothers and daughters Can stop mans’ senseless wars (Chorus) The Guns, they go Rat-tat-tat The bombs go Boom-boom-boom The earth it just Shake-shake-shakes Yes, it Shake-shake-shakes
7.
(Verse) I saw a rogue wave crashing In my rearview mirror Black hole of destruction Closer than it appears I gotta let my Baby Get me out of here I ask for forgiveness As we disappear Halfway to Vegas Ponch and John appear Flashing red and blue In my rearview mirror I ask my Baby Get me out of here They fade to surreal Then they disappear (Chorus) You can’t outrun chaos When the truth it exists Outrun Karma When the truth still persists Outrun run chaos The truth it exists You can’t outrun Karma When the truth it persists (Verse 2) I saw a rogue wave crashing In my rearview mirror Black hole of destruction Closer than it appears I gotta let my Baby Get me out of here I ask for forgiveness As we disappear On the darkest night Bonneville Salt Flats I plead with my baby To bend time and space She shivers; she shakes But it’s never enough We tried to outrun Karma But the truth persists (Bridge) In the cleansing waters of the Salton Sea An old man floated by and Spoke to me About a tether that binds Time and space The paradox of possibilities If one slips out of place I felt a wave of redemption Flow over me The salty tears of redemption Wash all over me (Chorus) You can’t outrun chaos When the truth it exists Outrun Karma When the truth still persists Outrun run chaos When the truth it exists You can’t outrun Karma When the truth it persists (Outro) She’s the Queen of the Salton Sea She tried to outrun Karma That won’t drive away me ‘Cause the truth The truth it persists and Love, love will resist I said and love, love Love still exists
8.
(Verse) The pills that she took Pushed the memories aside But as they were off She couldn't leave them behind Maybe a kind, Or cruel trick of the mind That memories fade And decline over time As memories fade Only emotions remain Raw and sublime And defiant of time (Chorus) Persistence of memory But it's slipping with time The details remembered They fade over time (Verse) The pictures he took And cached somewhere online Technology changed And left him orphaned behind Maybe a kind, Or cruel trick of the times Data degrades And links rot over time As memories fade Only emotions remain Raw and sublime And defiant of time (Bridge) In liminal spaces And subliminal states The delicate edge between Been and might be Savor the memories And learn from the past Let grace replace anger Close the door on the past (Chorus) Persistence of memory But it's slipping with time The details remembered They fade over time (Outro) As memories fade Only emotions remain Raw and sublime, And defiant of time
9.
(Verse) Still think about you Now and then; What once was and might of been The Love we shared now fades away Love can’t bloom In shades of grey Not supposed To be this way I think about you Night and day I hate it that I loved you so, Pathetic that I need to know (Pre-Chorus) Just one thing I’d like to know Did he come first; Before I let you go (Chorus) Think about you everywhere Think about the love we shared How you let that slip away Afraid you got the best of me I’ll take that back, I’ll take that back (Verse) This little world I call my life Your leaving caused An awful blight Remembered feelings Close to past Fading memories Start to pass A broken hearts A tarnished thing Mine still keeps True time for me A rhythmic beat That ticks away And with each pulse You fade away (Chorus) Still think about you everywhere Think about the love we shared How you let that slip away Afraid you got the best of me I’ll take that back, I’ll take that back
10.
(Verse) Excuse this voice I've got a cough I've lived rough Since we broke off Ten years It went by so fast Got to take more pictures And make it last In the half-life of our memories nothing was just what it seems Except in dreams, their fading fast As details fade, abstract remains Still remember when You fell apart The nuns, they could not Still your heart The quiet wild fury in your eyes As the tranquilizers Stilled your mind In the half-life of our memories nothing was just what it seems Except in dreams, their fading fast As details fade, abstract remains (Chorus) Time and time and time again I think about what might have been In the silent garden of my mind Try to leave my past behind (Bridge) Dawn breaks at the moment, when nothing else moves In an instant of silence Light dances for you At edge of the moment, The edge of the dark Faster than silence We think with our hearts (Verse) Hyena shows up For a Madrigal dinner Disguised as a maiden The guest list arrives Princess escapes She half-horse but a lady Gallops and dances Breaks into full-stride As this full moon shines down On this Spanish oasis Our hearts beat in rhythm The earth seems to sigh (Chorus) Time and time and time again I think about what might have been In the silent garden of my mind Try to leave my past behind

about

Thanks for checking out Supersonic Dynamite! We hope you enjoy our music and that these tunes fill your heart with a little joy and set your mind adrift to wander.

Huge thanks to Jared Goodpaster @seniorpes for your amazing producing, engineering, recording, and mixing skills! Supersonic Dynamite would never have happened without your kind and patient encouragement sweet gear and great ears. And thanks to all the friends who loaned us vintage gear and shared bits of sage advice. We are grateful for the love, kindness, and grace of our families, friends, and amazing community and for the pure fortuity that brought us all together to kick up a racket!

Tasting notes: We like the authenticity of recording the whole band playing together for live room sound and a little bleed in the microphones followed by overdubs. Music ought to ebb and flow, so no click tracks for Kacey. Kelsey borrowed a Black Russian Big Muff pedal to give the Free Bass a massive, wooly, wall-of-sound fuzz on Track 5. (Yes, we found our bass guitar in a garbage can.) Jackie mostly recorded with her Strat and a vintage Les Paul straight into a Fender Blues Jr. with the Bill M mod; Kelsey alternated between his vintage Les Paul and a Telecaster through his Tweed amp, and Jason played stuff with humbuckers and his Bass VI into a borrowed vintage Fender Deluxe Reverb (Thanks Johnny!). These amplifiers were recorded gloriously loud, like Thor hammer-wielding God of thunder loud. So that warm harmonic distortion comes from tubes overheating and breaking up, just as Thor intended.
